That story about Gerald Cotten and QuadrigaCX still gives me chills. The mystery of whether he really died or staged his disappearance makes it feel like a thriller more than real life. It also taught me a hard lesson about trusting centralized platforms with large sums of crypto—because when things go wrong, investors are left helpless. Personally, I prefer to keep control of my assets and double-check values with tools like this dogecoin calculator. At least that way, I know exactly what I hold and don’t rely entirely on someone else’s honesty. In crypto, trust really is everything.
