Blood on Bourbon Street (from "Fatal Destination")
In July 2003, 34-year-old Shawn Johnson was in New Orleans for a conference. And he did WHAT ANY OF US WOULD DO and tacked on a few days for a little bit of fun. On his last night in town, he found himself at an infamous bar called The Dungeon where he met a group of people who he invited back to his hotel room to fill the hot tub with Champagne and continue the party. Again, like any of us would do. However, Shawn would, tragically, be found dead in the room the following morning. On the walls of the room were ripped up and torn out pages from the bible. And on the bed, the creepiest homemade doll - WITH REAL HUMAN HAIR - that was ever created. The search for Shawn's killers was a mess. But in the end, some sort of justice prevailed. But oh my god, can everyone take it down a notch?

The Shawn Johnson case is absolutely chilling—especially those details about the Bible pages and the doll with human hair. It’s like something out of a horror film, but so disturbingly real. True crime often reveals the darkest corners of human behavior, much like how converting an image to pixel art can strip away detail to reveal a simpler, yet eerily different version of the original. It makes you wonder how small choices—like stopping at one more bar—can lead to irreversible outcomes. image to pixel art
Nano Banana 2
Been trying out Nano Banana for AI image generation lately. You just describe what you want in plain text and it generates something — built on Gemini so the quality is decent. Handles a range of styles from realistic to anime. Useful for quick concept visuals without needing to set up anything locally.
Spent a couple hours on Pokiig last week going through the puzzle section. A few of the games were more engaging than I expected — kept telling myself one more level and then lost track of time.
