October 4, 1991, Scottsboro, Alabama. A woman calls for an ambulance in the middle of the night saying she’s been bitten by a poisonous rattle snake. When they get her into the ambulance, she tells them that her husband, a snake-handling local preacher, had used his snakes to try to kill her.
